About Hannah Slater
I was born and raised in Spokane, Washington. I completed my teaching degree at the University of Idaho in 2015. In order to pursue my passion of working with students, I got my degree in Elementary Education with an emphasis in mathematics.

I completed my student teaching in Post Falls, Idaho. I was assigned to a Third Grade classroom at Palouse Falls Elementary. I was responsible to create unique lesson plans that followed the curriculum in order to meet all student needs.
​
I then moved to San Diego, California with my husband. I started subbing and completed multiple long-term teaching positions in K, 1st, 2nd, 3rd, 4th, and 5th grades. I taught in San Diego Unified School District for two years.
​
I am currently teaching in San Ysidro School District as the Project Lead The Way Science and P.E. Teacher for 1st, 2nd and 3rd grades. I have worked with ELL(English Language Learners) and all different types of student learners. This opportunity has given me the chance to adapt and grow as an educator!

I planned and created unique, grade level curriculum standards for grades K-5 for a program called Power 30. I worked with students in a smaller group setting to focus on improving a specific concept within math, reading or writing.
Long Term Third Grade Teacher

I planned and created unique lessons to fit the curriculum standards, taught and instructed activities for a 3rd grade classroom. I collaborated with team members and the principal to create the best and most successful teaching environment for my students to end the school year
